Yvonne Annette Stedman, 93, of Liza Harmon Drive, Westbrook, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Allston, MA, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Beattie) Asselin.  Yvonne was an avid traveler.  She also found great joy in shopping and reading. She was an amazing, independent woman who found time to help others; even in her later years helping people who were often much younger than she was.  Her love of family, especially her grandchildren was one of her greatest passions.  Her wonderful cooking and story-telling will always be cherished. Yvonne was predeceased by two sons, Henry O. and Daniel Gerard Flanagan; and her siblings Henry, Richard, Paul, Elizabeth, Dorothea, and Margaret. She is survived by her children William T. Flanagan of Aiken, SC, John W. Flanagan of Fuquay Varina, NC, Joyce Casale of Merritt Island, FL, and Stephen J. Stedman of Stanford, CA; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 1 great- great grandchild. Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anthony's Church in Westbrook.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
