Obituary

Yvonne E. Aube, Bogdahn, Bartlett, 91, of Westbrook, died after a short illness at her home, on November 9, 2017. She was born in Westbrook, the daughter of William & Alice (Teaque) Aube. Yvonne was a spirited woman, with many of life's hard lessons learned. In her youth she enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. After getting married and having two children, her husband Frank J. Bogdahn, unexpectedly passed away. Because of her youth, she was encouraged to put both her children up for adoption, which she refused to do. It was not an easy feat in a day when most women were stay at home moms; nonetheless she raised both her children as a single working mother. It was not until her daughter married, and her son left for Vietnam that she met and married a wonderful man, Ken Bartlett. They made their home in Falmouth, where they raced horses and lived happily until Ken's death. It was soon after that Yvonne realized her son Frank A. Bogdahn, was suffering the many affects from his time of service in Vietnam. Yvonne with the support of her daughter and granddaughter, cared for him, but helplessly watched him pass away at 43 years old. Life eventually calmed down. Her granddaughter married and gave her two beautiful great grandchildren. She was able to watch them grow into well balanced young adults. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, and by all those who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Betty Ann Danforth, of Westbrook, her granddaughter Kellie Rawding, and her husband Michael, of Gorham, her granddaughter Skylher Rawding, of Gorham, and her grandson, Forrest Rawding, also of Gorham. There will be no local services at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Dolby, Blais & Segee, Westbrook Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yvonne's memory to, VNA Hospice, 50 Foden Rd. South Portland ME 04106.
