Windham Winona A. (Swasey) Hodgkins, 86, died Sunday July 9, 2023 at Seaside Healthcare in Portland. She was born August 26, 1936, in Portland the daughter of John and Winnifred (Frank) Swasey. Winona grew up in Portland and was a 1954 graduate of Deering High School. Winona had a lot of passions in life including riding and showing horses, especially her horse Standish. Her first job, out of high school was for Harold Soule Motors. On September 7, 1957 she married Thomas Hodgkins, her sweetheart since Jr. High. Together they operated W.S. Hodgkins Painting Company and Country Seafoods of Windham. They also enjoyed vacations to Florida and their camps in Greenville and Rockwood. She always enjoyed her grandkids. She also enjoyed bird watching and flower gardening. Winona was predeceased by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, David Hodgkins and his wife Laura of Buxton; Judith Vance and her husband David of Windham, and Tammy Hodgkins of Windham; grandchildren, Adam, Jenesssa, Jenelle, Joshua, Billy, Scott, and Tommy; and great grandchildren, Katherine, Julia, Henry, Levi, Maddison, Riley, and Maverick. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM Thursday July 13, at Arlington Cemetery, North Windham.
