Obituary

WESTBROOK— Winnifred "Winnie" M. Marsters, 100, died at Maine Medical Center on September 29, 2018. She was born in Watertown, Massachusetts on April 8, 1918, the daughter of Fred W. and Mae (Brown) Clement. At the age 2, Winnie and her family moved to Portland, Maine. She attended Portland Schools and graduated from Deering High School in 1936. She married Irvine W. Marsters on July 9, 1936 and shared 61 years of marriage before his passing in 1997. Winnie was a member of the Westbrook Senior Citizens, Women's Fellowship of Westbrook Warren Congregational Church, Kora Shrine Widows, and was a past Matron and Grand Officer of Beulah Chapter OES in 1947 and 1948. She is survived by her three sons, Irvine Marsters Jr. and his wife Karen, Gregory Marsters and his wife Jeanne, and Fred Marsters and his wife Dr. Regina of Gorham; a brother, Fred Clement Jr.; grandchildren, Lori McKay and her husband Bruce of Portland, Mark Marsters and his wife Laurie of Malvern, PA, Scot Marsters and his wife Patty of San Carlos, CA, Joel Marsters and his wife Cindy of Bangor, Bill Marsters of Limington, Kasey Marsters and his wife Jessie of Gray, and Carlie Marsters of Gorham, Stephanie Robishaw and her husband Lance of South Portland, and Sandi Keef and her husband Tom of Westbrook; 21 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Winnie was predeceased by her husband, Irvine Marsters Sr., a daughter, Jeanne E. Marsters, and a great granddaughter, Abbiegail Winniefred-Lydia Marsters, sisters Harriet MacDonald and Aleda Currie, and a sister in law, Shirley Clement. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME 04092. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 1pm at the Westbrook Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St., Westbrook, ME 04092. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Winnie's name may be made to: Westbrook Warren Congregation Church- Marster's Cushion Fund (check payable to WWCC- Marster's Cushion Fund) 810 Main St., Westbrook, ME 04092 OR Shrine Hospital for Children- Boston, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114. Burial will be private.
