Leesburg, FL—William E. Young (Bill) of Leesburg, Florida died September 12, 2023 from complications from liver failure. He was 69 years old. His wife was by his side as he drew his final breath. Bill was born on May 6, 1954 at Buxton-Hollis hospital in Maine the son of Robert W. and Eleanor (Hunt) Young who predeceased him. He attended schools in Gorham and graduated from Gorham High School Class of 1973. In his youth he was an active member of the 4H club and competed in many fairs with his team of oxen winning many ribbons. After high school he enlisted in the Coast Guard and was stationed in Michigan. Bill is survived by his wife of 13 years Linda (Woolson, Tibbetts) Young, son Daniel Young from Michigan, Christopher Young and grandson Joshua Young from Summerfield, FL. Also survived by stepchildren Brandon Tibbetts and his fiancé Kacie Welch, Christina (Tibbetts) Baskett (Anthony); step-grandchildren: Zachary Tibbetts, Bradley Tibbetts, Kamden Tibbetts, Alexander Cullen, Patrick Privat (Cora Petersen), Isaac Privat and 3 great grandchildren. Bill grew up with sisters Linda (Ronald) Winship, Joyce Young, Diane Young, and estranged sister Roberta Morrill, all from Maine. Bill has many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He loved chatting with friends on Facebook. Bill was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and the Michigan Wolverines College football team. He enjoyed NASCAR and collected memorabilia of Dale Earnhardt as well as Dale Jr. Bill enjoyed fishing, cooking on the grill, listening to country western music and tinkering in his workshop. He has left a big void in his family and friends lives. He is loved and will be forever missed. Rest easy my love and save a spot in heaven for me. A time of visitation will be Tuesday October 3, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Home 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME. Burial will be on Wednesday, October 4 at 1 pm in Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Rd. in Springvale, ME. Family flowers only, please.
