WILLIAM JOHN "BJ" TRUE, HIRAM. William John "BJ" True, 43, died unexpectedly June 18, 2023 at Maine Medical Center. He was born May 1, 1980 in Portland, Maine, the son of the late Wayne and Susie (Austin) True. Will graduated from Windham High School, class of 1998 with his signature Mountain Dew on display even in his senior picture. He met the love of his life, Mistyn (Bridges) in 1999 and they later married in 2007 in Jamaica. The proud father of Isaac Richard, Owen Jacob, Gage Austin and Willow Amaya, he embraced parenthood with unwavering devotion. His children were his world, and he took every opportunity to nurture and guide them, instilling in them the values of love, respect, and perseverance. His love for his children knew no bounds, and his legacy will live on through them. As a husband, he was a true partner and best friend. He cherished his relationship and understood the importance of open communication, trust, and unwavering support. William loved his work and was an integral part of the team at Nappi Distributors where he began as a Merchandiser in 2000. He was promoted to a Draft Specialist in 2021 where he remained with those he considered his work family spanning a 23 year career with the company until his passing. Very much a family man, BJ enjoyed spending time with those he loved, especially attending his kids' sporting events and activities. He took pleasure in driving and was known for always taking the long way to get to his destination, even if it was a family vacation to Florida. In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his grandparents John and Rose "Lois" (Ford) True, William and Doreen (Knox) Austin and Uncle John True. Surviving in addition to his wife and children are his much-loved aunts Ina and Brenda, mother-in-law Deborah, sister-in-law Crystal and her husband Dave, brother-in-law Adam and his significant other Crystal, his brother Wayne and his wife Kristy, 11 nieces and nephews, 3 great-nieces and nephews as well as many cousins, extended family and dear friends. The family thanks the staff of Maine Medical Center for the loving care BJ received while there.
