WINDHAM— William Thomas Tanguay, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018. Billy was born Mach 8, 1967, the youngest child of John and Nancy (Baldwin) Tanguay. He grew up in Portland and graduated from Scarborough High School, class of 1985. Shortly after high school, Billy began to work in construction as a carpenter and later started his own construction company, T & T builders. Billy was a perfectionist when it came to his trade which was reflected in his finished product. A jack of all trades, he was lovingly known to many as "Uncle Billy". He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, golfing and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Billy was a one of a kind "give the shirt off his back" type of guy. Billy will be remembered for his laugh, fun personality, and glowing smile. He is survived by his sons, Brandon and Joseph Tanguay; siblings, James Tanguay, Daniel Tanguay and his wife Deb, and Kathryn Tanguay Doughty and her husband Timothy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Tanguay, and his parents. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 1pm to 5pm at the Moose Lodge in Scarborough, Maine.
