Obituary

Westbrook –William M. Kahler, 87, of Sargent St., Westbrook, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. He was born in Ferndale, MI the son of Clyde and Marion (Douglas) Kahler.  He served in the US Air Force for 22 years in active duty.  He took part in the Berlin Air Lift, the Korean Conflict, and was assigned to the Strategic Air Command.  After his retirement from the Air Force he took a job at E.A. Burns Fencing Co. in Westbrook where he worked for 20 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years Lillian Kahler in 2010, his daughter Cathy in 2004, and sisters Clarice Munch and Dolores Radke. He is survived by 2 sons Michael W. Kahler of Waterboro, Robert M. Kahler of Lisbon Falls, daughter Marsha L. Mullaney of Princeton, MA., granddaughter Arianna Kahler of Lisbon Falls, a sister Constance Decamp of Florida, and a sister-in-law Roberta Berenson of Sarasota, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held in the spring. Arrangements are by the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
