Wayne Elliott Morgan - 84 of Westbrook, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 24th. Wayne was born September 18, 1940 in Portland to Byron and Julia (Smith) Morgan. Wayne lived and went to school in South Portland until joining the military. Wayne proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from '58 to '62 as an electrician. He was stationed in Puerto Rico and then Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point in North Carolina. After the military he married and went on to have 2 daughters, Julie and Cheryl. Later in life he met his wife, Irene, whom he loved so and also gained a step-daughter, Laura. After the military, Wayne worked for Merrill Transport and then Messer for 32 years before retiring. Wayne loved spending time at the Wynn family camp on Sebago Lake each summer. He enjoyed going for drives around Maine and New Hampshire with his wife. Wayne had a love for restoring cars. His most recent was a complete restoration of a 1963 Ford Galaxy. He was an avid hunter and had taken many expeditions including trips to Montana. Wayne had a love for movies of all kinds and video games, Mario being his favorite. He loved dogs, and they him. Wayne is survived by his daughter Cheryl and her husband Ricky of Westbrook, step-daughter, Laura and her husband Arnold of Hollis, granddaughter Chelsea and her husband David of Gray, grandson Tyler and his fiancé Ashley of Harrison, granddaughter Ashleigh of Hollis, and great grandson Elliott. Wayne is predeceased by his wife Irene Morgan, father Byron Morgan, mother Julia Morgan, brother Byron Morgan Jr., brother Richard Morgan, sister Jeanne McCarthy, sister Barbara Thurlow, and daughter Julie Morgan. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Saturday September 6, 2025 at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street in Portland, ME.
