Obituary

Virginia Marie Tedford, 84, of Halidon Rd., passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Maine Medical Center following a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 18, 1927 in Baldwin, the daughter of Howard and Clara (Boothby) York.  She lived in Baldwin until the age of 16, when her family moved to Westbrook.  She worked for several years at the Westbrook Spinning Mill. Virginia enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, stock car racing, and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Lloyd Tedford in 2010. She is survived by a son Lawrence Tedford and wife Carol of Westbrook; daughters Linda and husband Paul Pettis of Westbrook, Sue and husband Phil Small of Cornish, Rose and husband Jim Wilkinson of Wakefield, NH, and Jane Tedford of Westbrook; grandchildren Corrine Meservey, Kevin Tedford, Jeff Small, Jen Hayward, Cathy Bazylewicz, Jason Wilkinson, Jonathan Small, Liz Tedford, and Juston Wilkinson; great-grandchildren Jessica Meservey, Jacob Meservey, Lily Tedford, Sully Hayward, Eva Tedford, Tatum Hayward, Milo O'Connor, Simon Hayward and Alex Small;  sisters and brothers-in-law  Fred Tedford, Shirley Rankin, Rebecca Shaw, Mary and Joe Wallace, Marshall and Lynda Tedford, Rachel Mondor,  Patricia York and several nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by her parents, brothers Howard York Jr, Elmer and Frank York, half-brothers Herbert, Alton and Bill Libby. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. Funeral Services will take place at the Funeral Home, Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.   A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Monday at the funeral home.
