Born to Louis and Mildred Rioux, Virginia grew up in Gorham, where she attended local schools and later devoted 20 years of her life working at Sebago Moc Shoes. Beyond her professional contributions, she was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post #197 in Westbrook for 25 years, showing her unwavering support for veterans and the community.
She is predeceased by her parents and her dear brother, Raymond Rioux. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Danny Meggison of Buxton; her daughter, Rebecca Semple and her husband James of Baldwin; her grandsons, Michael Meggison of Buxton and Derek Semple of Wyoming; her great-granddaughter, Rylan Semple of Wyoming; and her sister-in-law, Sarah Rioux of Gorham.
Throughout her life, Ginny embraced her passions for crocheting, reading, sewing, and painting, sharing her creativity and warmth with those around her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her vibrant spirit, and her profound love for her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Windham-Gorham Rod & Gun Club located at 8 Tow Path Rd, Gorham, Maine 04038. Friends and family are warmly invited to come together to share memories and celebrate Ginny's remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Westbrook American Legion Post #197 at 300 Conant St., Westbrook, ME 04092, to honor her legacy and commitment to the community.
Virginia “Ginny” Rioux will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
