Obituary

Virginia 'Ginny " Johnson Gale, of Longfellow Place, passed away Friday Oct. 12, at Cedars in Portland. She was born in Freeport, the daughter of Stanley E. and Dorothy Gould Johnson. Ginny had been employed by Rowe Ford in Westbrook for 22 years. She was a devoted member of the Westbrook Warren Congregational Church. She participated in preparing the Thursday luncheons and was a member of the Board of Deacons. She was a member of the Longfellow Red Hatters and the Nifty Knitters of Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed  knitting, crafting and spending time in her home in Florida with her husband. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years Kenneth B. Gale. She is survived by a son Skip Gale of Las Vegas,   5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister and brother in law Marilyn and Ralph McMahon of Freeport and 3 special nieces. Funeral Services will be held Saturday Oct. 20, at 1:00 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook. Ginny's family would like to thank her many friends for their love and support during her illness. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to Hospice of Southern Maine.
