Violet Mae Wiggin of Standish, Maine, passed away peacefully early March 15th at the age of 97. Violet was born July 1st, 1918 to Harry and Daisy Chick of Westbrook, Maine. She married her late husband, Henry Wiggin in 1945 and together they raised their three daughters, Patricia, Gloria, and Sharon. During her lifetime Violet was known by the people of Gorham for her wonderful greenhouse, Sunny Acre Nursery, where she shared her love of gardening with her family, friends, and community. She was an active member of the First Parish Church of Gorham and a member of the local snowmobile club. She is remembered fondly by her loved ones for her warm home, loving smile, and endless generosity. Violet is survived by her three daughters and their families: Patricia and Walton Brann of Gorham, Maine, Gloria C. Powers of Portland, Maine, and Sharon Perkins of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Violet was a wonderful grandmother to eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren who were all spoiled by her love. Violet is also survived by a long time friend and companion, Charles Chamard and his son Steve Chamard, who both so kindly cared for Violet and Henry for many years. A service to honor Violet will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at 2pm at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St, Gorham, Maine. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association Maine Chapter.
