PORTLAND—Velma Rae Adeline Linscott, 57, passed away on March 2, 2019. She was born December 11, 1961, a daughter of Bernard Young and Leona Burns. Velma grew up in the Portland area and attended Portland Schools. She worked as a housekeeper at various hotels throughout the years such as The Fairfield Inn, The Eastland, Motel 6, and Holiday Inn. Velma enjoyed Bingo, scratch-off's, and playing Facebook games. She was a social person who enjoyed having a good time with the company of others, some of her favorite watering holes in Portland included Ruski's, Ricky's, and Bubba's. She had a sarcastic sense of humor and loved her grandchildren dearly. She is survived by her children, Cassandra Porter, T.M. Porter and her boyfriend Kenny, William Meserve and his wife Sabrina, April Linscott and her boyfriend Ryan Ramsey, Sabrina Linscott and her boyfriend James Johnson; siblings, Debbie Moody, Howard Young and his wife Lisa, David Burns, and Robbin Peterson and her husband Mark; and grandchildren, James, Rex, Leona, AJ, Jake, Lil Kenny, Mark, Justin, Kylie, Gavin, Ryker, Amelia, Natalie, Holly, Lexie, Austin, Nate, and Chris. She also leave behind several nieces, nephews, and many beloved friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Leona Prescott, and a sister May Brown. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 3pm to 5pm and the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME 04092.
