Valeria Mavis Gordon passed at home with her son, James and his wife Heather on Saturday August 19, 2023. Valerie fought a courageous fight with breast cancer for a second time. Born Valeria Mavis Rogers on September 13, 1932 to the late Barent Elmer Rogers and Florence Belle Mahr. Val was born in Jupiter, New Brunswick Canada. Later in her childhood she came to the United States and at that time changed her name to Valeria. Valeria's passions were cooking and her family. Val's first job was at a hotel making baked goods and later in life sold her baked goodies at her daughter Cathy's restaurant. You could stop by anytime of the day and their were always fresh baked goods. Val kept up the tradition of Sunday dinners, Often having her children and grandchildren over and the house would fill with laughter. Sadly Valerie was predeceased by four of her five children, Rodney Blais, Joanne Rich, Catherine Blais-Dyer and Stephen Blais. Valeria is survived by her son James A Brosseau II daughter in law Heather Brosseau, brother Darell Rogers and wife Cathy, sister in law Bonnie Rogers wife of the late Carl Rogers, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. A time of visitation will take place on Thursday, August 31,2023 from 4pm until 7pm. Grave side service will be held at Brooklawn Memorial Park 2002 Congress St. Portland Maine. Family and friends are welcome to meet at the Funeral home Friday, around 10:30am for a procession to the cemetery.
