Obituary

Trey Jordan Boucher, 14, of Portland, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 19, 2025. Trey, the son of Nan M Boucher, was born in Portland on November 23, 2011.

Trey was in the 8th grade at Lyman Moore Middle School. During his time at Lyman Moore, Trey participated in Model U.N., served as Co-President of the Student Council, played on the tennis team, and performed major roles in two school plays. Trey had been in the Spanish Immersion Program since Kindergarten.

Trey was well-liked and trusted by his peers. Shortly after his death, Lyman Moore offered students the opportunity to write about Trey, and their words described him as being warm, funny, generous, and kind. In the school and in the community, his genuine smile would lift anyone’s spirit.

Trey had style, from his collection of bucket hats, to his later embrace of his beautiful curly hair. He even customized his clothing, designing his own tee shirts, and once bravely altering his pants with one leg long and the other cut short. Another way he expressed his style was with music and dance. Music always filled his home, often accompanied by his impromptu dance performances.

Trey was fortunate to be able to travel and explored Spain, Portugal, Canada, and annually St Croix, USVI, which was his “second home”. He loved the beach there and especially snorkeling the underwater world. Trey adventured in Maine, mastering skiing at Mt Abram and mountain biking single track trails. He explored western Maine ponds by kayak where this fall he was in awe to closely encounter his first Blue Heron. As much as he loved travel, he loved being home the most, where he had unconditional love from his Mom, his dogs Lulu and Macy, and his cat Tinker.

Trey is survived by his mother Nan, his grandparents June and Nicholas Camp of Scarborough; his aunts and uncles Amanda and Michael Ventimiglia of Ashburn, Virginia, Elizabeth and Drew Gattine of Westbrook, Brenda Rumery of South Portland, Diane and Mark Rumery of Biddeford, and Karen and Kevin Cassidy of Chapman; and his half-brother Reid Stevens of Portland. Trey had many loving cousins, Dakin, Jordan, Sabrina, Isabella, Jonathan, and “Eden-Bean”. He was predeceased by his grandparents Dwight and Doris Boucher of Scarborough.

A Gathering to Remember Trey will be held in the coming weeks; place and time to be announced.

Trey’s family is appreciative of the many gifts of food and flowers already received. Contributions in memory of Trey can be made to Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills (responsiblepetcare.org) or the St Croix Animal Welfare Center (stcroixawc.org).
