Tomi (Gushiken) Jordan of Gorham passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family at the Gosnell House in Scarborough, Maine. Tomi was born on December 18, 1931, in Motobu-cho, Okinawa. She was a civilian WWII survivor. Tomi came to the U.S. in 1960. Ceded into the life of a single mother with four children, Tomi was strong, independent, and self-reliant by default. When faced with adversity, Tomi often said "Help me my way." While raising her children on her own, she worked different manufacturing jobs before retiring. She became a U.S. citizen in 1994. During retirement she enjoyed watching WWE, the Red Sox, and old westerns. Tomi prided herself in caring for her grandchildren, taking walks and gracing all family gatherings with her famous fried rice. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and loved surprise visits with cheese pizza and ice cream. Prior to moving to Gorham, she raised her family in Limington, alongside the Saco River, where many happy memories were made with her children. From there she moved to Westbrook where she was graced with creating more cherished memories with her grandchildren for several years. She always amazed us in learning and celebrating traditions for her loved ones throughout the years. Tomi is survived by her four children: son, Steven Jordan and wife Josephine of Standish; son, Stanley Jordan of Cornish; daughter, Sherry (Jordan) Mowatt and husband David of Buxton; son, David Jordan Jr. and partner Tracy of Buxton. Her seven grandchildren: Jessica Braman and husband Rick, Kyle Jordan and partner Courtney, Nicholas Mowatt and wife Jessica, Zachary Mowatt and partner Cydney, Andrew Mowatt and wife Stephanie, Griffin Mowatt and partner Mikayla, and Tyler Jordan. Three great-grandchildren: Hannah Braman, Grayson Mowatt, Olivia Mowatt and another on the way; and sister Kiyo Hitch of Clifton, Virginia. Visiting hours will be held 10am-11am on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, followed by her service from 11am-12pm at Dolby, Blais and Segee Funeral Home, 76 State St, Gorham, ME 04038. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Gosnell House of Hospice of Southern Maine.
