Obituary

Thomas Maxwell Hume passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2021 with his family at his side. Tom was born to Albert and Ruth Hume on October 10, 1955. Tom was born in Portland and raised on Concord Street in the Deering Area. He worked at Nissans Bakery until he found his place at the Portland Water District. He worked at the water district for 45 years and had retired just days before his passing. Tom had a love for the outdoors he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being in the Maine woods with anyone, but especially his sons. He also had a love for trains and anything to do with model railroads. Tom had made many friends and everyone who knew him loved him. He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Ruth Hume; mother and father in law, Leslie and Catherine Barrows and his sister in law, Jane Bellino. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sally Hume; sons, Tommy and Justin Hume; siblings, David, Edwin, John and Margret Hume. Tom also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and in laws who also loved him dearly. Tom may be gone but he will never be forgotten. Visiting Hours will be held from 4:00pm to 5:00pm on Wednesday, December 15 at Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook.
