Thomas (Tommy) Andrew Gilchrist 1976-2017 Thomas Andrew Gilchrist, 41, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Friday February 24, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a short, but courageous battle with cancer, with loved ones by his side. He was born in Dover, Delaware on January 4, 1976, to Robert and Paula (Gurney) Gilchrist. Thomas was raised in Gray, and was a 1994 graduate of Gray-New Gloucester High School. Thomas loved spending time with his cousin Wade Jordan, playing guitar and doing martial arts. He spent his summers out on the water swimming, boating, playing horseshoes, and camping. Thomas was a loving son, father, and brother who brought laughter, and joy to everyone around him. Tommy worked as an auto detailer at Dave's Auto Care. He was a very hard, passionate and dedicated worker. He was preceded in death by his mother, Paula J. Gilchrist, his brother, Timothy J. Gilchrist, his uncle, James Gurney, his grandfather, Donald Gilchrist, his grandmother, Dorothy Gilchrist, his grandfather, John Gurney, and his grandmother, Madilyn Gurney/Bye. Thomas leaves behind his sons Zachary Andrew Gilchrist, John Anthony Gilchrist, Alex Michael Gilchrist, and Cody Gilchrist Dixon. He also leaves behind his father, Robert B. Gilchrist and step-mother Lisa Gilchrist, Sister, Tera L. Gilchrist, Brothers, Peter L. Gilchrist, and Brian S. Gilchrist. Nieces, Taylor B. Gilchrist Rapp, Imaline J. Rose Gilchrist, Nephews, Jeremy T. Bonham Gilchrist, Timothy J. Gilchrist Jr. Matthew W. Rapp, and Shawn A. Rapp. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-6 PM at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 76 State St. Gorham. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St. Portland.
