Westbrook – Thomas ( Tommy ) Michael Charest, 56, of Ridge Rd. passed away Tuesday March 20, 2012, at his home. He was born in Westbrook, the son of Omer and Lea Fecteau Charest. Tom attended the Woodfords School & Community Partners. He worked in several businesses, the last being Wise Paper Co. Tom was very devoted to his church, St. Anthony Parish. His activities included the Special Olympics, bowling, baseball, swimming and basketball. He was very proud of his medals received through his sports. Tom was a very loving and gentle young man, always smiling, just nice to have around. He will be missed. He was predeceased by his dad in 1980, his mom in 1998, his sister Rachel Foley in 1992. He is survived by a brother Robert Charest of Westbrook, sisters Gloria and husband Elmer Welch of S.C., Anita Knowles of Gorham, Constance "Connie" and husband Phillippe Lagasse, with whom Tommy resided of Westbrook, nieces and nephews Donna, Dwayne, Denise, Christopher, Leslie, Christine, Jeffrey and Nichole. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Parish. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Tom's family would like to thank Hospice for their wonderful kindness and care and a thank you to the dedicated caregivers and to Dr. Medd and Staff.
