Theresa Ann Nicholas, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough. Terri was born in Portland on Nov. 3, 1945, the daughter of Lawrence and Beatrice (Watson) McGrath. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1964. She married Stephen Nicholas on June 10, 1967. They were married for almost 45 years and raised four children. Terri was a nurse at Maine Medical Center for 32 years. She enjoyed reading, running, movies, and the outdoors. Terri was active in the Maine Track Club and was proud to volunteer at this year's Boston Marathon. She ran many races including this year's Beach to Beacon. She recently took a trip to Peak's Island where she enjoyed exploring the island. Being a long time Red Sox fan she was thrilled to see them win the World Series. Terri was happy and proud of being a Mom, Nana, and Nanny. She enjoyed attending and following her children and grandchildren's activities. She was predeceased in 2012 by her husband Steve. Terri is survived by her daughters Laurie and her partner Mike Nixon and Kathleen and husband Morgan Baxter all of Gorham; sons John and wife Erin of Windham, Michael of Portland; a sister-in-law Susan Nicholas McBride and partner Dan Conner of Westbrook; grandchildren William, Sarah, Athena and Demetria; and several nieces and nephews. An hour of visitation will take place on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the start of the Funeral Services at 10:30 AM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook.
