Theresa Jean Bouchard (née McCartney), 85, passed away on October 27, 2024, in Portland, Maine at the Cedar's Nursing home after a nine-year experience of Alzheimer's. She was born in Cortland, New York (in the area of Niagara Falls) on March 31, 1939. She was married for 55 years to her husband, Richard Bouchard, who predeceased her in 2015. She leaves behind their adult children, daughter Theresa Marie Bouchard and son Rick Bouchard (both in Maine), Rick's three sons: Bruce Grover of New Hampshire and his two sons, Thomas and Chance, and his daughter, Sydney; Brad Bouchard (Maine) and his wife Amber and their two sons, Owen and Evin; and Justin Bouchard (Maine) and his two sons, Brenden and Colby and daughter Rhianna. Theresa leaves behind her older siblings, Hugh Joseph McCartney (86) and Sr. Philomena Marie McCartney (89) both from New York. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Daniel and Mary Ann (née McCurly) McCartney who were immigrants direct from Ireland in 1930. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Theresa was a long-time stay-at-home mother opting to care for her family and house in lieu of working out-of-the-home. Throughout life, Theresa was known for her deep love for her children, Calico cats, birds, crochet, soap operas, bingo, dancing, camping and sweets. The family is opting for a private Catholic mass, Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 at 10 am, which will be broadcast on Zoom (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84968102824) and open to family and friends so they may attend virtually or from afar.
