Gorham – Theodore L. Cross, 87, died at the Gorham House on Friday May 25. Born on November 11, 1924, he was the son of Lambert and Katherine Cross of Concord, N.H. His family visited Bar Harbor seasonally when he was young, which figured in his reminisces. He married Angela Gaudreau of Westbrook on Nov.24, 1947. Most of his employment was with the S.D. Warren Co. He retired and never looked back. Ted had many retirement hobbies. Helping out at Springbrook Center was his passion and he was known as the popcorn man by the residents there. He gardened, ice skated at Portland Ice Center, baked serious breads and cheesecakes, listened to music and doted on his cars. His quiet presence was his greatest quality. Ted was predeceased by his daughter Katherine. Survivors include his wife Angela of Westbrook, daughter Maureen and husband Bob Snyder of Sterling Heights, MI., Son Mark and wife Laura of Northeast Harbor, son Tom and wife Ann of Gorham, daughter Eileen and husband Brandon Gavett of Gorham, daughter Judy and husband Robert Letarte of Windham, daughter Peggy Cross of Gorham, his brother Mark and wife Janet Cross of Marlboro, MA., sister Nancy and husband Gene Lugg of Bow, NH., many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 12 noon in St. Anthony of Padua Church.
