Tammie Nickerson - Libby After a protracted battle with Cancer, Tammie Jean Nickerson Libby died on December 1, 2014 in Sanford ME, while surrounded by family at the age of 54. She leaves behind her husband Christopher Libby, her daughters, Mistey Charrier of Portsmouth NH, Tammie Chambers of South Portland ME, Jennifer Libby of Westbrook ME and Tina Lane of Sanford ME, as well as six grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her siblings; Brothers Kenneth Nickerson of Machias ME, James Nickerson of Limington ME, Darrell Nickerson of Sanford ME and Sister Debbie, As well as close friends Vicki and Kenny Riggs of Westbrook ME. Tammy was born on September 9, 1960 in Portland ME, to her Father Kenneth Nickerson and Mother Judith Charrier who both predeceased her. She grew up in Portland and lived a modest life full of many friends. Ever since childhood she looked out for the people she cared for and as an adult her home was always open to whoever needed a hand. She was a savior to some by taking on the role of a temporary mom to some who may have needed one. She was no stranger to financial struggles but she was always able to find a way to make the best of a tough situation. Tammie lived to take care of her family, making sure there was always enough to go around. She put the family first, ahead of herself every time. A Memorial Service will be held at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St. Westbrook on Saturday, December 6, at 3:30 PM The Family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to help with the costs of the service.
