Sylvia Pomerleau Jerome, 79, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 with her loving family at her side. ¬ Sylvia was born on November 17, 1937, in Westbrook, the daughter of Victor and Roseanna Pomerleau. She grew up in Westbrook and graduated in 1956 from Westbrook High School. In her younger years, Sylvia was an avid bowler in leagues at Prides Corner Bowling Alley. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the beach or her favorite restaurant, The Clambake. She was especially proud of her seven grandchildren. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Rose Wormwood and Theresa King. She is survived by her sister, Leona Thibeault of Westbrook, daughter Toby Jerome of Sunnyvale, CA, her son Timothy Jerome of Gorham and his children, Nathan, Matthew and Kristin, daughter Laurie Downey, her husband Dan and their children, Alicia and Daniel, her son William Jerome of Windham and his children Samantha and Alexander, and two great-grandchildren. Sylvia's family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at the Portland Center for Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice. Your care of our loved one was exemplary and we will forever remember the compassion and kindness you showed each of us. Visiting hours will be held at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St, Westbrook, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 22, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 23rd at 11:00 AM at St. Hyacinth Church, St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 268 Brown Street, Westbrook.
