Susan Dianne “Sue” Fortier 63, passed away in Windham on May 9, 2026. She was born October 25, 1962, in Portland Maine, and was the daughter of the late John C. and Joanne R. (Page) Fortier.

Susan grew up in Windham and attended Windham school. Susan or Sue, as some called her, graduated from Casco Bay College in 1983, with an associate’s degree as a Legal Administrative Assistant. Susan worked for a law firm in the 1980’s and then switched gears and worked for several wood paper mills in Maine and then went to work for the American Red Cross from 1981 to 2008 in the disaster section of the organization. From there she worked for Maine Health as a financial counselor from 2008 until the present.

She is survived by her sister Sally (Fortier) Roig and husband Jeffrey, brothers Thomas Fortier and wife Patricia, Douglas Fortier and wife Virginia, sister Elizabeth (Fortier) Sanford and husband James, uncle and aunt Bruce and Janet (Page) Raeburn plus several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

There will be funeral services held at Friends Meetinghouse, 374 Gray Rd, Windham on Saturday, June 13th at 1p.m. with the Reverend Cheryl Cuddy officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Those who wish may make donations in Susan’s name to the American Heart Association.
