Windham Susan (Purtell) Fish, 60, died Monday April 11, 2016, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was born February 27, 1956, in Danvers, MA, a daughter of Robert and Shirley (Simm) Purtell. Susan grew up in Portland and attended Deering High School until her senior year when her family moved to Plymouth, MA where she graduated from Plymouth High School. Susan loved caring for young children. She worked for 2 years at a pre-school in South Portland and then for 16 years in the Windham School system retiring in 2010. Susan enjoyed the beach, long walks, and being in the company of others. She will always be remembered for her compassion and lively spirit. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Jeffery Fish; daughters, Michelle Lugar and her husband Eric of Biddeford, and Jennifer Fish of Westbrook; sisters, Sherry Gilliam and her husband George of Limington, Alana Heath and her husband John of Mass., Debbie Schools and her husband Bob of Gorham, and Melanie Sabina and her husband Bernie or Mass.; brother, Robert Purtell Jr. of Mass.; and mother in – law Alice Fish of Windham. A memorial service will be held 4:00PM Friday April 15, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. Burial will be private.
