Stella Frances (McGee) Lemieux Stella Frances Lemieux was taken up to heaven in the hands of the Lord on August 19th. Born in the family homestead in Twin Mountain, New Hampshire on January 7, 1928, Stella was the third of 10 children of John V. and Mary G. (Mullen) McGee. Stella, as one of the older children, often helped her mother with the younger ones and with taking care of the family household forming lessons of caring that she used throughout her life. She graduated from Twin Mountain High School in a class of only 4 students. Stella worked at various Twin Mountain restaurants, hotels and motels, at The Breakers Hotel in West Palm Beach, and also as a switchboard operator at New England Telephone Company. Stella married the love of her life, George Russell (Russ) Lemieux, in 1950 and for a few years was a farmer's wife, before they moved to Gorham and then Westbrook, Maine. She became a full-time mother and homemaker after the birth of her first child, Anne Marie. Stella's life was spent unselfishly dedicated to her husband, her three girls and two grandchildren, and to making their home a loving, comfortable, and special place to be. She was a meticulous housekeeper and a wonderful cook who always made the holidays special family times. Although quiet and sometimes shy, Stella was funny and could light up a room with her laughter and quick wittedness. On countless occasions, Stella would tease a loved one by coming up with an appropriate gag gift, which was comical, but also kindhearted. A devout Catholic, Stella's faith guided her life, making her a wonderful role model for others. She was quick to help and care for her family, never hesitating to put their needs before her own. Stella loved being with her family and especially spending time with her daughters. She was addicted to the fun of crosswords and other puzzles. Stella's long fought battle with Alzheimer's Disease never stole the love she had to give, which was demonstrated by her ability and desire to still give kisses over the last years and months to both family and her special caregivers at the Gorham House. Stella was predecessed by her mother and father, a sister Janet Wessels, and a brother John R. McGee. Survivors include Stella's husband of almost 64 years, George Russell Lemieux, three daughters – Anne M. Jarvis of Lewiston and her husband Thomas, Joan F. Davis of Scarborough and her fiancée Robert Ashley, and Susan M. Nappi of Windham and her husband Jay; two grandchildren, Kristen L. Davis (Joan) of Arlington, VA, and Nicholas A.
