Shirley E. Butler, 91, formerly of Westbrook, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the York Hospital. Shirley was born in Westbrook, the daughter of Harold and Sarah (Young) Sawyer.  She was raised and educated in Westbrook.  She was married to Winston Butler who passed away in 2006. Shirley excelled in hand work, crafting many unique handmade bears of which she kept a collection.  She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and square dancing with her husband Winston. She is survived by a daughter Pamela Johnson and her husband Russell of York, grandsons, Derek Johnson of Kittery and Darren Johnson and his wife Katie of Hampton, NH, and her great-grandchildren Annika and Gavin Johnson. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
