WESTBROOK—Shirley R. Cole, 82, passed away November 19, 2018. She was born on August 13, 1936, a daughter of Clarence and Della (Bryant) Ring. Shirley received her education from Peru Grammar School and Stephens High School, graduating in the class of 1955. She worked for the paper mill in Rumford until her retirement in 2000. Shirley married Elwin W. Cole in 1958; this September they celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Shirley will be remembered as a strong and independent woman with a kind heart. She is survived by her husband, Elwin Cole of Westbrook; daughters, Lynn Martin of Windham and Jean Tunnicliffee of Chessington, Surrey, England; and three granddaughters. She is also survived by one sister Noreen Bucknell of Hiram. She was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers. At her request, there will be no services. Interment will be at the family's convenience. Arrangements are in the care of the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME.
