Obituary

Westbrook - Sherry L. Garris, 59 passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2016. Born on March 13, 1957, in Portland, to Clifford Dennison of Westbrook and Olive Dennison of Standish (predeceased), she graduated from Bonny Eagle High School, Class of 1975. Sherry was a loving, caring sister, mother, aunt, cousin, best friend, friend. She had a "zest for life". Sherry loved to be with family and friends, always wanting to help anybody. Sherry enjoyed cooking, dancing, going to the movies, camping, any beach, her kitties...Bam Bam and Pebbles (her "good babies" as she would always say), traveling and sightseeing. She was employed at LGC Maine Standards as a Manufacturing Operations Technician for many years. She served in the Army as a cook for 3 years where she met her husband, Chuck of 24 years and traveled extensively as a career wife while raising their only son, David. Sherry is predeceased by her mother, Olive Dennison. She is survived by her son, David Garris of Blue Springs, Missouri; father, Clifford Dennison of Westbrook; siblings, Michael Dennison of Hollis, Patrick Dennison (her twin) of Baldwin, Doreen Pinkham of Lisbon, and Bonnie LaPointe of Sebago; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws. Sherry will be remembered for her generous personality and her love of life. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street Gorham. Burial will follow in Steep Falls Cemetery, Rte. 113, Steep Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherry's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
