Windham – Sherry Lynn Colson, 73, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Baron Center. She was born in Detroit, MI, on August 5, 1944, the daughter of Mary (Lehman) and Harry Birkhimer, Sr. Sherry grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from high school in Johnstown, PA. On October 12, 1974, she married Robert Colson, and together they raised their three children. In 1977, she began real estate career, and was a broker for 20 years before she retired. In her spare time, she traveled the country with the show rabbits that Robert and her raised. One of their rabbits was even selected as the Cadbury Bunny in their famous commercial. Sherry also, enjoyed reading, cooking, canning, gardening, and crocheting clothing for her grandchildren. She was always collecting clothing and unused home items for a local agency supporting Battered Women and Children. Sherry will be missed by her family until the Lord re-unites us again. Sherry is survived by her husband, Robert, Sr.; son, Robert Colson, Jr. and fiancée Jessica James of Standish; daughters, Jennifer Cutting of Auburn, and Karen McCluskey and fiancé Duane Love of Richmond; grandchildren, Brian Colson, Robert Colson, III, Amy Colson, Joseph McCluskey, and Hannah McCluskey; four great grandchildren; brother, Harry Birkhimer, Jr. of PA; many nieces, nephews, and friends at the Barron Center she has made over the years. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Mayberry Cemetery, Park Road, Windham.
