Sheila M. York, 69 of Windham, Maine passed away Friday, February 4th, 2022. She was born on May 21,1952 to Robert L and Nora M. York. Sheila started her working career at Maine Bonding and Casualty company in the billing/accounting area right here in Portland, Maine. After several years working in Maine, she transferred to their Atlanta and later to their Baltimore, Maryland offices before retiring and moving back to Maine. She continued to work in the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry for a combined total of 40 years before retiring again. Sheila loved her church, family and children. She taught Sunday school, participated in many Saturday night church suppers and bake sales. She enjoyed her nieces and nephews taking them to church with her, treating them to an occasional movie and the McDonald and Movie Gift Certificates at Christmas was always a treat to all! : She is survived by a brother, Robert L. York, sister Carol A. Davis both of Windham and another sister Cynthia S. Snow of South Portland, Uncle Warren Fournier of Hiram and many nieces and nephews: Robin, Denice, Danny, Robert, Blaine, Dennis, Shannon, Sean and Sarah. Grand nieces and nephews include: Cassidy, Ainsley, Riley, Macey, Avery, Michael, Joshua, Anna, Bailey, Gabriella, Gianna and Zoe Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dolby, Blais and Segee in Windham, Maine. A grave side burial will be held in May 2022. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
