Portland Sharon (Gorsuch) Hoy, 65, loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 15, 2018, of heart failure. She will always be remembered for her caring heart, gentle voice, and soothing demeanor. She loved being a "Mainer" and looked forward to her trips to the Samoset Resort and Bailey Island cruise. Sharon enjoyed being a homemaker, and was devoted to family and friends. Sharon recently found the love of her life, marrying her husband Stephen almost exactly a year ago. Sharon was born in Middletown CT, a daughter of Jack and Patricia (Sheridan) Gorsuch. She was raised in a military family and grew up in Kentucky, Germany, and Westbrook. She was a graduate of Westbrook High School (1970) and attended Westbrook College. She worked at Home Depot for more than a decade. Sharon was predeceased by her parents and sister Shaun Gorsuch Perry. She is survived by her loving husband Stephen D. Hoy and four children: sons Tom Tobiassen II of MA and Todd Tobiassen (Lauren) of MA; daughter Tiffany McClellan (David) of CA; and step-son Nathaniel Hoy of IL; sisters Susan Gorsuch Metivier (Bob) of AZ, and Sandra Gorsuch Plummer (Darrell) of ME; grandchildren Tommy and Lily, and five nieces and nephews. Sharon always looked forward to time with all the children in the family. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday February 22, at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee 35 Church Street, Westbrook.
