It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Shane Lash Carland, 31, of Windham passed away, at the Gosnell Hospice House on May 20, 2024 surrounded by family. Shane was born on February 22, 1993. Shane married the love of his life, Brenda and had two step children, Jared Clifford, Jr, and Mackenzie Santamore. Shane's life journey was unexpectedly cut short by a brief illness that he courageously fought until the very end leaving his friends and family with a void in their hearts. May Shanes memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Shane attended Portland Public Schools and later went on to work at Tim Carland Plumbing & Heating, following in his father's footsteps. Despite his profession, Shane always found time for his hobbies which included music, riding his motorcycle, dirt bikes, snowmobiling, fishing, puzzles, coloring, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Shane was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Shane's sense of humor and infectious laughter will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Whether he was cracking jokes or enjoying a family barbecue, Shane had a way of bringing joy to every situation. Shane will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering dedication and loyalty to his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and all the love he brought into everyones lives. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the amazing life he lived and the countless memories he left us with. Shane is predeceased by his loving mother, Shawnda Alden Carland. He leaves behind his wife Brenda of Windham, step children Jared and Mackenzie of Windham, Father, Tim Carland and Step-mom, Karyn Nelsen of Falmouth, grandparents, Holly and Pat Bryan of Venice, Florida, grandfather, Glen Alden of Gorham, NH, an uncle, Brady Alden of Standish, his best friend since childhood Mariah Brown of Portland. Many nieces and nephews and extended family. This isn't goodbye, this is simply see ya later. As his Grandmother would say "See you in my dreams". We love you, we'll be okay and you'll never be forgotten. A small gathering/memorial service to honor his joyful life will be held graveside Friday, June 7th at 12:30 P.M., at Evergreen Cemetery, Stevens Ave. Portland.
