Obituary

Scott Anthony Martin, 56, of Naples, Maine, died unexpectedly on August 7, 2025. He was born on January 16, 1969 in Burlington VT. His childhood was filled with days exploring the woods with friends and his younger brother. He graduated from Williamstown HS in 1988. Scott began his lifelong mission of service in HS when he started running calls with the Williamstown Fire Department. In June of 1988, Scott's life changed forever when he met the love of his life Wendy at a DeMolay and Rainbow ball. From that night on, their connection grew into a true partnership, and the two were married on October 22, 1994. Over the following years Scott's life changed even more with what he often said was his proudest achievement, becoming a father to his three sons. Scott devoted his life to serving others, whether through his work, volunteer service, or the quiet, everyday acts of kindness he offered without hesitation. He was a skilled carpenter whose craftsmanship left a lasting mark on everything he did. For the last three years he was a valued employee at Windham Millworks. Previously he served as Head Ranger at Camp William Hinds in Raymond, ME for almost a decade. Here he managed the largest capital development project ever spearheaded for Pine Tree Council with the construction of a new dining hall fit for 500 campers along with countless other projects on the site. However large of an impact he had on the site his impact on the youth was greater. Countless Scouts, volunteers, and Staff looked up to Scott for his leadership and guidance. He served as a Pack Leader and Scout Master in Windham. He volunteered with numerous nonprofits and community organizations, mentored youth, helped in remodeling key buildings at the Cumberland fairgrounds, and was always the first to lend a hand, a tool, or a listening ear. His heart for service was matched only by his ability to make people feel valued. Scott believed that everyone deserved to be seen, heard, and respected, and he lived that belief every day. His warmth, humor, and generosity touched countless lives, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know him. Scott is survived by his wife Wendy (Wright) Martin, sons Eri, Samuel, and Jonah Martin all of Naples ME, mother Beverly (Martin) Ouimet of Barre VT, brother Mark Ouimet and wife Valerie of Washington VT, father in law Morris Wright of Windham, nephew and nieces, and many others who considered him a father. He was predeceased by step father Norman "Peter" Ouimet and mother in law Jeanne (Carter) Wright.
