PORTLAND – Scott Alan Jackson, 48, of Portland passed away Thursday morning peacefully. He was born January 5, 1969 in Portland to Ralph C. Jr., and Mary Jane (Knudsen) Jackson. He attended Portland Schools and graduated from Deering High School, class of 1987. Upon graduation, he worked at the Great Lost Bear in Portland. In 1991 he moved to Arizona to attend Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, where he studied early model Harley Davidson restoration. He went to Rhode Island and worked at Ocean State Harley Davidson, later returning to Maine to become Lead Technician at Big Moose Harley Davidson. He then worked at AAMCO Transmissions in Portland. In 2010 he proudly earned a degree in Computer Science from Southern Maine Community College. On July 4, 1997 he married Stephanie (Hawkes) Jackson and on July 22, 2008, they had a daughter, Sara Jane, who was the light of his life. Scott was a caring, thoughtful, intensely charming and charismatic individual, who put love into everything he did. He loved motorcycle rides, Laconia Bike weekend, tinkering, electronics, toy runs and helping friends. He could fix anything and was a marvelous cook, too. He loved to research and document his family history and shared his findings with everyone. Among Scott's most treasured moments were the times he spent with his beloved daughter, Sara Jane. The last day of his life he spent at Family Day with his daughter, playing on the field and participating in obstacle courses. Scott is survived by his daughter, Sara Jane Jackson, his brother Stephen M. Jackson of Augusta, sister Kellie L. Truong of Los Angeles, CA, and sister Ruth J. Crosby and husband Michael of Westbrook. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Tuesday August 15, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME.
