LIMERICK and GRAY – In memory of Sandra D. Smith, 76, (formerly Sandra D. Boucher), passed away on November 4, 2016, after battling multiple health issues. She died peacefully in her sister's arms, with whom she resided, since she became ill in 2014. Sandra was a loving mother, daughter, sister and wife, who had a contagious and mischievous sense of humor. She was a diehard, unshakably loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and enjoyed practically every other sport as well. After spending a short time in the US Navy herself, she took on the role of a Navy wife with all that entailed. She loved life, had an insatiable curiosity and looked forward to her occasional trips to Foxwoods and Las Vegas casinos, each carefully planned and saved for over many months. She worked at Fairchild's/National Semiconductor for over 18 years, retiring in 1998. She is predeceased by her husband, Philip W. Smith of Limerick, and her mother, Martha Boucher of Gray; two brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving relatives include her three children and their spouses, Philip M. Smith and Dallas of FL, Kevin J. Smith and Tracey of Alfred, and Kelly A. Kelley and Peter of Leeds. In addition, she is survived by 8 grandchildren, Philip Smith, Jr., Christopher Smith, David Smith, Sarah Smith, Dalton Smith, Rylie Smith, Nicholas Kelley and Matthew Kelley; and one great granddaughter, Merida Smith. She is also by her sisters, Joyce Ronco-Bowser (also her caretaker and best friend) of Gray, Jackie and George Casey of FL, Donna and Robert Bevan of FL, Patricia Vacchiano of Windham, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, November 8, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd, Windham. A graveside service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, November 9, at the Smith Family Cemetery, 341 Central Ave., Limerick. Memorial donations may be made in Sandra's honor to the Fresenius Kidney Care Casco Bay, 1 Chabot St., Westbrook, ME 04092.
