Sandra "Sandy" Jane Merrill Sandy Merrill of Westbrook passed away unexpectedly on July 23rd at the age of 62.  She was the daughter of Edwin & Anna Schoff.  Sandy was a LPN nurse for many years.  After graduating from Kennebunk High School, she attended a nursing school in Boston and then soon began her nursing career.  She worked at Maine Medical Center and other nursing facilities in the Portland area.  Sandy had retired from nursing which gave her time for reading, bird watching, gardening, going to the beach, watching the Red Sox, and spending time with her grandchildren and family.  She learned to knit at a young age and often knitted mittens and hats for her children when they were growing up.  Sandy was also looking forward to her son's wedding this September. Sandy was predeceased by her father, Edwin Schoff.  She is survived by her mother, Anna Schoff of Arundel.  Her husband of 37 years, George.  Her children, Betsy Labon and her husband Ben of Steep Falls.  Her son, Bryan Merrill and his fiancée Shannon Esty of Westbrook.   Her surviving siblings: Barbara MacCormack of Sanford, Steven Schoff of Lyman, Laura Atkinson of Saco, Wayne Schoff of Arundel, Allen Schoff and his wife Brenda of Arundel, and Sara Merando of Arundel.  Her grandchildren, Aaron and Eli Merrill of Westbrook, and Breeanna Labon of Steep Falls.  Sandy is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much. This Saturday, July 28th there will be a visiting hour from 10:00am – 11:00am followed by a service at 11:00am at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook.
