Raymond- Samuel Mark Dixon, 65, of Raymond, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2017 at RiverRidge Center in Kennebunk with his loving family by his side. Mark was born and raised in Elkton, MD, the son of Samuel and Rosemary (McCray) Dixon.  He received his Bachelors Degree from North Carolina State and his Master's Degree from West Virginia. His career in Science was spent in Research and Biotech companies. Mark's sense of humor was enjoyed by his family and many friends. He had a very outgoing personality and a wonderful smile. He loved classic cars and music, especially Jazz. Marks greatest joy in life was his two sons who gave him a great sense of pride. He also loved dogs, especially his dog Monk and grand dog Herschey. He is survived by his wife Brenda McMackin, sons Nate and Ian Dixon, all of Raymond; a sister Sharon Robinson and husband Jay of Forest Hill, MD; nieces and nephews Becky, Rachel, and Mandy Robinson, and Jared and Kelley Hart; 12 grand nieces and nephews; and his best friend since childhood Mick Sprecher. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A memorial service will take place Saturday at Noon at the Westbrook Warren Congregational Church.
