WINDHAM- Russell E. Hall, 76, passed away on March 25, 2018 with his girls by his side. Heaven has gained one of the hardest working farmers, a loving father, a great steward of the land. Born in Portland, February 4, 1942, the son of Stanley V. and Mary L. Hall he ran the family farm with his parents. Known to be high spirited, Russell worked seven days a week. Producing milk for Oakhurst Dairy for over 70 years; he was very mechanical and did all the farm repairs himself and raised his own crops. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone and would go to the ends of the earth for his people. He could often be seen eating at his favorite hamburger joint, Harmon's, on Saturday nights. Russell was a graduate of Windham High School and attended the University of Maine, Orono. He married Joan A. Ingalls on June 1, 1962. He spent his life working on the family dairy farm, Halledge Farm, and raising his family. Russell gave back to his community being a lifetime member of Cumberland Farmers Club, brother of Presumpscot Lodge No. 0070 A.F. & A.M, Sir Knight of Portland/ St. Alban Commandery No. 2 Knights Templar Portland, ME, and was a member of and served as Vice President of the Maine State Fair Association. He is predeceased by his wife, Joan A. Hall and his parents, Stanley and Mary Hall. Surviving are his brother George and wife Phyllis, sister Karen and husband Richard Lewsen, daughters Stacey Webster and husband Bill, Kimberly Babb and husband Barry, three grandchildren, Ryan Webster and Ashley Bell, Darcey Webster and Jake Gardiner and Logan Babb and Cody Laberge, also one great grandchild Blake Webster whom he was particularly proud of. Russell's family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Coastal Manor for taking him into their family and treating him with so much love, respect and dignity. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 AM. March 28, 2018 at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais, & Segee, 434 River Road. A period of visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service. A private burial will be at Smith Cemetery at a later date.
