Obituary

Rosemarie Bouchard, 82, of Gorham, Maine passed peacefully at home after a courageous battle of cancer, on April 4, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born in Nudlingen, Germany on December 26, 1942 to Oskar and Barbara Mueller. She grew up in Germany with her sister Hannelore Katzenberger and her brother Karl Heinz Mueller. Rosemarie met the love of her life Gilman Bouchard in 1961 in Bad Kissengen, Germany and they were married on August 11, 1962. Rosemarie was a supportive military wife of her husband's 25-year Army career. They lived in several places in Germany and the US before settling in Westbrook Maine in 1971. Rosemarie's true love was her husband of 52 years and her children and grandchildren. Rosemarie's achievements were quiet but profound. She was a very talented quilter and knitter. She shared her love of crafting and ceramics making many of her lifelong friends. Many of her items were generously donated to the hospitals and schools for their children and churches for their holiday fairs. She knitted many hats and prayer shawls that were shared with many grateful people. She was a member of the German American Club and Prides Corner Bowling League. She worked for 29 years at the Westbrook School Department where she was known as everyone's "favorite lunch lady that made the best cookies". She was an amazing cook. Rosemarie left an impact on everyone that met her. It was a true testament of her friendship due to having many friends of different ages and of many walks of life. She was predeceased by her husband Gilman P. Bouchard, her son David Bouchard, her mother Barbara Brommel and her father Oskar Mueller, and her brother Karl Heinz Mueller. She is survived by her son Michael Bouchard (Traci) of Ohio, her daughter Judy Bouchard of Gorham, her grandchildren Angeline Castle (Matt) of Kentucky, Jasmine Bouchard (David) of Virginia, Danielle Tirabassi (Eddie) of Westbrook, Julian Nijkamp of Naples , Derek Bouchard of Raymond , David Bouchard of Colorado, Jacob Bouchard of Missouri, Harrison Nijkamp of Biddeford, her daughter in law Denise Russell (Mark) of Raymond, and her sister Hannelore Katzenberger (Julius) of Germany. The family would like to thank the Compassus Hospice nurses for their kind and gentle care for Rosemarie until the end of her life. Rosemarie became very fond of Stacey, Molly, and Randi. Visiting hours will be Wednesday April 9, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 299 Main St., Gorham. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook.
