Ronald Aime Vachon, 81, of North St., Westbrook, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Springbrook Center. He was born and raised in Westbrook, the son of Ludger and Blanche (Ouellette) Vachon. Ronald served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge he took a job with S.D. Warren Paper Co., where he worked for 35 years before retiring. Ron was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed camping and fishing, but his greatest passions were music and family. He was a saxophonist and enjoyed accompanying his mother who played piano at various dance halls in the 40s and 50s. Ron was also a member of the American Legion in Westbrook. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Mary Louise (Paul) Vachon, and his sister Anita (Vachon) Jordan. He is survived by his son Michael Vachon and wife Jodi and a grandson Matthew Vachon, all of San Diego, CA. Michael and his family would like to thank the staff for the loving care received while at Springbrook, especially Carolyn who took it upon herself to make sure he was happy every day. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anthony's Church.
