Obituary

Roland R Tetrault Sr. passed away peacefully on December 16, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born in Westbrook on October 8, 1916 the son of Louis and Eulalie (Lenneville) Tetrault. Educated in the Westbrook school system, he graduated from Westbrook High School in 1936. While at Westbrook, he starred in football and baseball. He lettered in baseball all four years and was selected to the Telegram League Allstar team. His team also won two Telegram League championships. He was married in 1938 to Helen (Royles) Tetrault and they spent 58 wonderful years together. They spent many winters in Florida and enjoyed supporting their sons at various sporting events. He worked for 42 years in the coating department at S.D Warren, which was the only company he ever worked for. He often said that in his day people expected to work for a company for life, quite different then the way young people look at their careers today. Roland was predeceased by his wife and his brother Robert. He is survived by his son Roland Jr. and his wife Linda, son Peter and his wife Jeannette, grandchildren Wendy Connolly and her husband Jack, Lorrie Rogers and her husband Chris, and Scott Tetrault. Also surviving are great grandchildren Brett Connolly, Brandon Rogers, Andrew Rogers, and Alexandra Tetrault. The family would like to thank the staff of the Gorham House, where Roland lived the last two years of his life, for the outstanding and compassionate treatment he received. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 6 pm until the start of the funeral services at 8 pm., at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook. Interment will take place Friday at 10 am at Woodlawn Cemetery .
