May 4, 1935 – Dec 7, 2024 (89 Years Old) WESTBROOK – Rogers Remick , 89, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on December 7, 2024 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 4, 1935, the son of the late Paul Remick Sr. and Helen (Rogers) Remick. Rogers graduated from Wells High School, Class of 1953. He attended the University of Maine from 1953-1955 as an engineering student. A loyal patriot, Rogers served in the United States Army from August 1955 to May 1957 in the 509th Armored Field Artillery Battalion. In 1959, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Boston University. Rogers would become self-employed, owning several small businesses. He eventually became a computer programmer and consultant to many Maine businesses. Rogers was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and snowmobiling - a true Mainer. He was a thoughtful and generous man, lending a hand and expecting nothing in return. His biggest joy was his family, who affectionately referred to him as "Grumps." He was a consummate listener, advisor and friend. Rogers loved a good conversation and was known to have a quick wit. He was an avid reader, knowing a lot of things about a lot of things. He was a patient problem solver and could fix almost anything. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul Remick Jr.. Rogers is survived by beloved wife, Mary (Kennie) Remick of 59 years; a sister, Gretchen Cash; a daughter, Brenda (Remick) Scally and her husband, Jim; a son, Sheldon Remick; a son, Gregory Remick and his wife, Kelle; and a daughter, Cynthia Remick; eight grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Andrew, Aaron, Miranda, Austin, Kaleb and Gabriel; and four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Colton, Lakelyn and Kayce. Rogers enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. A small family gathering was held on Sunday, December 8th at Dolby, Blais & Segee in Westbrook in lieu of any service. The family would like to recognize the compassionate staff at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House and Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Home.
