Roberta( Roak) Foltz, 80, of Grants Pass Oregon died peacefully on January 11, 2024 at the Gorham House in Gorham Maine. She was born on October 7, 1943 in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of the late Phillip S. and Helen (Abbott) Roak. Roberta grew up in Auburn graduating from Edward Little High School in 1961 and the University of Maine in 1965, where she majored in food and nutrition. Following college she completed a year long dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Most of her career was spent at General Foods in Tarrytown NY followed by a few years at Nabisco in New Jersey. After retirement, she started her own nutrition labeling company, Nutrients Now. Roberta spent some of her retirement years in Grants Pass Oregon, where she enjoyed volunteering in many organizations including the Rogue River Garden Club. During those years, her creative talents also led her to designing floor cloths and hooked rugs. The friendships she made there were special. Roberta leaves her son Matthew of Grants Pass Oregon , her two sisters Marcia Fitzgerald of Marlboro MA and Diana Taylor and her husband Steven of Scarborough, Maine, and her niece, Megan Taylor of Cambridge MA. During the last year, she was surrounded by her family including many cousins, and good friends. A memorial service will be held in the spring or summer.
