Robert W.G. Sheppard Sr. of Yarmouth passed away on Tuesday, March 19, at the Gosnell House. Robert was born in Lynnfield Massachusetts on June 11, 1930 the son of Robert and Beatrice Sheppard. He entered into the army after high school, and served in the Korean War. After his time in the army Robert worked as a cook at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett, MA. Robert loved cooking, watching Wrestling and Nascar, and more than anything lighthouses. He collected anything and everything that involved lighthouses. Robert is pre-deceased by his wife Dorothea, and grandson Michael. He is survived by his 5 children, sons Robert Jr. of Raymond, N.H, Clifton of Raymond, N.H, daughters Mary Doyon of Westbrook, Dorothea Sheppard of Concord, N.H, and Donna Pothier of Machias, 8 grandchildren, Ben Allen Jr., Liana Pothier, Jolene, Karen, Stevie Doyon, Brittany, Robert, and Brian Sheppard, as well as 7 great grandchildren. Graveside services for Robert will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta at a later date.
