Windham Robert Brian Sawyer Sr., 80, died Wednesday November 23, 2016, at his home with his family by his side. He was born January 5, 1936, in Gorham, a son of Guy and Charlotte (Rolfe) Sawyer. Robert grew up in Windham and was a 1954 graduate of Windham High School. He enjoyed a career as a Machinist and was a longtime employee of Di Electric. Robert was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing with his family and following the Patriots and Red Sox. Robert will be remembered for his sense of humor and as a dedicated member of the Lighthouse Christian Center of Westbrook. In addition to his parents Robert was predeceased by a brother Paul Sawyer. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia (Bernier) Sawyer; children, Ricky Sawyer and his wife Vicki of Windham, Kathy Whynot and her husband Kenneth of Gorham, and Bobby Sawyer of Windham; brother Guy Sawyer of Windham; sisters, Judy Sawyer and Sue McElroy of Windham; 12 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1:00PM Saturday December 3, at the Lighthouse Christian Center of Westbrook, 636 Spring Street, Westbrook. An hour of visitation will be held at the church from 12:00PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at the Chase Cemetery, Highland Cliff Road, Windham.
