Falmouth Robert B. Littlefield, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Sedgewood Commons. He was born in Portland, the son of Robert and Georgia (Gray) Littlefield Sr. Robert was a 1949 graduate of Westbrook High School. He later served in the U.S. Army in an Artillery Unit. Robert was a graduate of Gorham Teachers College and went on to teach English and History at Lincoln Junior High School for 14 years. Robert went on to receive a Master's Degree from the University of Maine at Orono. After teaching he sold real estate and later became the Cumberland and Gardiner Tax Assessor. After his retirement he worked part time for L.L Bean, Freeport, Maine. Robert loved his favorite pastime, hiking and mountain climbing throughout Maine and New Hampshire. He had a great passion for jogging, but most of all Robert loved the great outdoors, animals, and Mother Nature's wondrous wildlife. Robert is survived by his wife Barbara (Usher) Littlefield of Cumberland; a sister Jean Crocket; four nephews, and eight nieces. A visiting hour will be held from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday, April 15, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.
