WINDHAM – Robert M. Dyer, 87, of Windham passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Westbrook, a son of Harold L. and Emily (Conohan) Dyer and attended school in Gorham. Robert enjoyed fishing and had a passion for watching movies. For forty years, he worked at the S.D. Warren Paper mill, retiring in 1993 from the Shipping Department. Robert was a member of the 40 Year Club and the United International Paper Workers Union Local #1069. Robert was a quiet man who was dedicated to his job and had a great work ethic. He was predeceased by brothers, Russell, Harold and Kenneth Dyer and sister, Alice Lebreque. Surviving are a son, Dale Robert Dyer and his wife Terry of Scottsville, Kentucky; daughters, Christine Jackson of Standish, Brenda L. Cote and her husband, Dan of Lewiston, and Wanda MacArthur of Windham; brother, Norman Dyer of Old Orchard Beach; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Visiting hours will be 5:00 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the family lot at Hillside Cemetery, Gorham.
